Project Documents
Project members can upload files to a project to make them available on this page and in the My Documents and Community Documents portlets for viewing and editing by other project members. Project members with the appropriate permissions can also check out documents, edit them, and check them back in. The version history of the document is saved in the project.

Documents and Folders
Under Documents and Folders, you can perform the following actions:
- To receive e-mail notification when project documents and folders are updated or created, click Subscribe. If you are already subscribed to project documents and you want to stop receiving notification, click Unsubscribe. If the Subscribe link is not enabled, you need to set your e-mail address in your user profile.
- To send an e-mail inviting other users to view or subscribe to this project's documents, click Notify. This displays the Send Notification page.

Folders
Under Folders, depending on your permissions, you can perform the following actions:
- To create a new document folder, click New Folder and complete the New Folder Properties page.
- To view the details of and documents in a folder, click its name. This displays Folder Details, subfolders, and documents.
- To edit the name or description of an existing folder, click its name; then, on the details page, click Edit and complete the Edit Folder Properties page.

Documents
Under Documents, the following information is displayed:

Name |
The name of the file. The document icons represent the type of file (for example, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel). |
Type |
The kind of file (for example, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel). |
Size |
The size of the file in kilobytes. |
Date Modified |
The date and time the file was most recently changed. |
Checked In By |
The user who most recently checked in the file. |
Checked Out By |
The user who has the file checked out. |
Under Documents, depending on your permissions, you can perform the following actions:
- To upload a file to the project, click Upload Single File and complete the Upload page.
- You can sort the documents in ascending or descending alphabetical order by Name, Type, Size, Date Modified, Checked In By, or Checked Out By. To sort in ascending alphabetical order, click the column title by which you want to sort. To switch to descending alphabetical order, click the column title again. The icon to the left of the column title indicates the sort order: ascending (
) or descending (
).
- To open a file, click its name.
- To view the details for a file, download a file, check out a file, view the version history for a file, subscribe to a file, or notify other users of a file, click
. This displays Document Details.

Folder Details
Folder details displays the following information about the folder:
- Description: The description of the folder.
- Created By: The user that created the folder.
- Date Created: The date and time the folder was created.
- Date Modified: The date and time the folder was last edited.
Depending on your permissions, you can perform the following actions in folder details:
- To change the name or description of a document, click Edit. This displays the Edit Folder Properties page.
- To permanently remove this folder, its subfolders, and all its documents from the project, click Delete.
- To receive e-mail notification when this folder is edited or when subfolders or documents are created or edited in this folder, click Subscribe. If you are already subscribed to this folder and you want to stop receiving notification, click Unsubscribe. If the Subscribe link is not enabled, you need to set your e-mail address in your user profile.
- To send an e-mail inviting other users to view or subscribe to this folder, click Notify. This displays the Send Notification page.
- To return to Project Documents, in the Document Folder Path, click the name of the project.
Folder details also displays Folders and Documents.

Document Details
Document Details displays the following information about the document:
- Description: The description of the document.
- Created By: The user that uploaded the document.
- Date Created: The date and time the document was originally uploaded.
- Date Modified: The date and time the document was last checked in.
- Size: The size of the document in bytes.
- Location: The path to the document (project name, folder name, file name).
- Version: The current working version number of the document.
- Checked In By: The user that last checked in the document.
- Date Published: The date and time the document was last published to the portal Knowledge Directory.
Depending on your permissions, you can perform the following actions in Document Details:
- To change the name, author, file type, or summary for a document, click Edit Properties. This displays the Edit Document Properties page.
- To permanently remove this document from the project, click Delete.
- To download a copy of this document to your computer, click Download.
- To check out the file so you can edit it, click Check Out. This displays the File Check-Out page, where you can download the file to your computer if necessary. After editing the file, save it, and check it back in by clicking Check In and complete the File Check In page. If you want to cancel your check out, click Undo Checkout.
- To view the version history for the file, where you can view, revert to, or delete previous versions of the file, click View Versions. This displays the Document Versions page.
- To receive e-mail notification when this discussion is edited or new messages or replies are added, click Subscribe. If you are already subscribed to this discussion and you want to stop receiving notification, click Unsubscribe. If the Subscribe link is not enabled, you need to set your e-mail address in your user profile. You cannot subscribe to closed discussions.
- To send an e-mail inviting other users to view or subscribe to this discussion, click Notify. This displays the Send Notification page. You cannot send notifications for closed discussions.
- To return to Project Documents, in the Document Path, click the name of the project.
- If this document is stored in a folder in the project, you can return to the parent folder, by clicking the folder name in the Document Path.
