In the Tagging Engine, a person is a subject matter expert. When you create a search query, you define the subject matter that you are looking for. The people who are most relevant to your search query appear at the top of your search results on the People tab or in the Tagging Engine People portlet.
People are useful when:
You have looked through the items in your search results and they are not providing you with the level of detail that you need on a particular subject.
You would rather talk to a subject matter expert instead of read a document.
You want to contact a person who is knowledgeable about a particular subject but do not know that person's name.
When any of the above situations occur, you can perform a search for the subject matter that you want to know more about. After the search results appear, click the People tab to view a list of people who are relevant to the subject matter.
For more information on how the Tagging Engine determines the people to display on the People tabs and the Tagging Engine People portlet, see Analysis Sample Size.
