Create a .CSV File

Oracle WebCenter Collaboration is integrated with Microsoft Project 2003, allowing you to import Microsoft Project files into Oracle WebCenter Collaboration as task lists.

Before you can successfully import a Project file, you must create a map in Microsoft Project first. You need to create this map only once for every Microsoft Project application; it can be reused for importing from and exporting to Microsoft Project.   (After you have performed these procedures, you can proceed to Step 1 of importing a Microsoft Project file).

Note: The following instructions refer to the English version of Microsoft Project.  The menu items and button labels mentioned below will be translated if you are using a non-English version of Microsoft Project.

To create a map:

  1. Download the template file (PTCollab_Task_Mapping.mpt) by clicking Collaboration Template File in the Import Microsoft Project File dialog box.

  2. Save the template on your hard drive.

  3. Import the Oracle WebCenter Collaboration map into Microsoft Project.

    1. Open PTCollab_Task_Mapping.mpt in Microsoft Project.

    2. In the menu bar, click Tools | Organizer | Maps.

    3. In the list box on the right side of the Maps tab, select the Collaboration Task List map.

    4. Click << Copy.

    5. Close the dialog box.

To save a Microsoft Project file into a format that can be imported into Oracle WebCenter Collaboration:

  1. In Microsoft Project, open the Project file you want to import into Oracle WebCenter Collaboration.

  2. Save the Project file as a comma delimited .csv file.

    1. Click File | Save As... .
