Message Styles

Message styles should be used only when needing to provide an update to a user after an action have been taken. Some examples:

• When some processing has finished, such as uploading an image
• When form has been submitted
• When user input is incorrect
• When a user requests functionality that they do not have access to
• When the system encounters an internal problem and cannot continue

This page details the message styles defined by AFSC and the Portlet specifications (Java Portlet Specification and Web Services For Remote Portlets). The portlets below show the correct ways to implement these styles in your HTML, as well as serve as an example and test bed to see how the different styles render. Please see the different portlets below for when it is appropriate to use each individual style.
